Unrivaled Media & Entertainment is a digital audio and visual production company. We seek to develop both talent as well as digital content for minority creatives and entrepreneurs. We offer website design, audio recording, production and editing, as well as written editorial services. The name is reflective of our distinction amongst other companies: Unrivaled means “better than everyone or everything of the same type.
How has your business progressed recently and what do you attribute that to? Where do you see your business in one year?
The scope of services offered has expanded. I think that this can mainly be attributed to the rapidly growing entrepreneurial market. In its inception, Unrivaled was primarily a music editing and production company. However, as podcasting and pageantry became popularized and independent business ownership expanded, our clientele became more diverse and our scope of services grew to reflect that. Now, we offer website design, podcast production and pageantry or live show voiceovers in addition to the music production and recording services.
What are your favorite tools or resources that help you do business smarter, and how have they made a difference?
MailChimp is still a go-to for mass communication and dissemination to clients. Genius Scan is a great and fast app for scanning and sending files. PayPal, Google Wallet and Square are the main resources used for digital payments (we have clients nationwide), and Scheduler—through Wix—helps to manage appointments.
What advice would you offer to businesses like yours just starting up?
Overdeliver. Word of mouth is still the most powerful tool. Collect reviews from your customers and always be looking for ways to improve your services.
