Tell us a bit about your business.

My own journey as an entrepreneur for some 20 years, with three successful SMEs behind me, inspired me to support women entrepreneurs and professional women in making the progress they are looking for.

I support business and professional women who are struggling with feeling stuck with procrastination, self-sabotaging behaviors, self-doubt, indecision and lack of clarity to overcome these and show up for their businesses no matter what.

I do this by introducing these women to how they can work with their mind, body and business connection to resolve their limiting behaviors and get out of their own way. I also support them with energy psychology to overcome difficult blocks quickly.

How has your business progressed recently and what do you attribute that to? Where do you see your business in one year?

I have been developing this business for two years. In the last 12 months, I have become really clear about the online services that I wish to offer—”niched down”—and this year have developed my first content plan for the first quarter. I’m seeing increased interaction with the focus I have now.

In the next year, I plan to turn that focus into an online program focusing on connection and support for entrepreneurial women.

What are your favorite tools or resources that help you do business smarter, and how have they made a difference?

I totally love my Wix website, that is for sure. I love the ease at which I was able to build it. I love that I was easily able to reflect my personality in the site and how simple it is to review and adjust as I need to. Totally loving it.

Site Booster has been amazing in getting my SEO sorted. I’m now receiving organic referrals from Google. Yippee!

Analytics are always awesome. I can see that I am reaching my target audience. That’s important to know. I’m loving the insights in the blog app as well. Anywhere I can get insight data from is useful.

The productivity tool I use is Trello. I’m loving having a simple system and process to follow with service development.

Communications: Active Campaign is awesome for flexibility and getting my message out there. I’m fairly new to it so there’s still a lot to learn about it. I particularly like the idea of adding a CRM app to Active Campaign.

Finances: I’m a whiz at this as I have a lot of experience with financial management. I love Xero but I’m also OK with Wave at the startup stage.

Currently for leads, I’m building my following on Facebook and Instagram. My favorites. As I become more comfortable with my online presence I’ll be expanding that. I like Twitter but I’m not using it to its potential as of yet.

I’ve just signed up with Biz.me and I’m loving what I see, so looking forward to some great content.

I have a very structured approach to my email inbox so that I only receive great, quality content that is relevant to me. I use Mac Mail. Totally love how I can separate and channel relevant content to my inbox and other boxes to keep it clean, uncluttered and organized.

What advice would you offer to businesses like yours just starting up?

  • One step at a time.
  • Make sure you have some working capital and a startup budget plan.
  • It’s essential that you have a cashflow plan.
  • Don’t give up your day job for a while. Make sure that you have your overheads covered and don’t expect your business to make a profit for a while. That could be a few years.
  • Be realistic or you will be disappointed.
