Tell us a bit about your business.
Laurel Bay is a fractional CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) agency. Our team of part-time marketing leaders provide marketing, sales and product strategy, implementation and resources for businesses of any size. Essentially, we’re accomplished executives who prefer the thrill of new challenges that come to fractional CMOs.
I founded the company in order to give every company—no matter its budget, tenure or size—access to the most experienced talent and methodologies. By employing an executive on an on-demand or interim basis, clients benefit from C-level wisdom without having to budget the full-time salary, benefits or equity typically required.
How has your business progressed recently and what do you attribute that to? Where do you see your business in one year?
We’re growing steadily year after year and I attribute that to both hard work and strong communication. One year from now, I hope to be helping even more businesses ‘punch above their weight class’ by using Laurel Bay fractional CMOs!
What are your favorite tools or resources that help you do business smarter, and how have they made a difference?
I rely on the Google suite for everything from email to collaboration to website analytics. I’m a huge proponent of marketing automation tools such as HubSpot, Pardot, Oracle Eloqua and others. But I advise clients to implement these only after they have successfully cleansed and filtered its data and established company-wide operational processes and workflows.
What advice would you offer to businesses like yours just starting up?
You’re only as strong as your network. By working together and helping one another, everyone wins.
