Tell us a bit about your business.
edi. Consulting Services was founded to aid and inspire the creativity of others in business. We provide editorial consulting (i.e., original copy, copy editing, proofing, market research/insight, etc.) for professionals and businesses looking for a trained editor to review documents, such as investor dossiers, marketing materials, web content, manuscripts and more! edi. believes freeing individuals from the editing process gives them time to pursue the collaborative and creative endeavors that make a company stand apart.
How has your business progressed recently and what do you attribute that to? Where do you see your business in one year?
edi. has progressed our mission to bring awareness and aid to the adult and children’s literacy issues within the U.S. and around the world. We hope 2018 will allow us the opportunity to do larger giveback campaigns to organizations making a difference in this area.
On the business side, edi. has expanded our service offerings in 2018 to include writing coaching, market research and web design. These new services have provided edi. rewarding opportunities to expand our working relationships and editorial presence in the field.
What are your favorite tools or resources that help you do business smarter, and how have they made a difference?
LinkedIn Learning has been an invaluable resource as the founder and owner of my business. The tutorials, further learning and certification opportunities made available have helped refine and broaden my skills.
What advice would you offer to businesses like yours just starting up?
Keep at it! Networking is a big part of any consulting business, but it takes about six months to a year to build the connections that lead to the steady business opportunities necessary for any successful company. Don’t be discouraged if consumers aren’t immediately convinced of your value. As a new company, you have to prove your worth.
