Tell us a bit about your business.
My business came from my natural, lifelong inclination toward photography. I have always been a shutterbug. As I’ve grown into myself, I’ve noticed a passion for capturing mysterious macro images and my body of work grew. I like to give my viewer a glimpse into secret worlds right in front of them that they might not otherwise see, especially with the naked eye. My work is primarily based in nature (botanical and anatomical specimens), and I feel like it is an accessible respite that brings nature and imagination inside—into our indoor spaces.
How has your business progressed recently and what do you attribute that to? Where do you see your business in one year?
I feel like my business is still brand new! I feel like I’ve accomplished a great deal with the launch of my website/online shop and supporting social media profiles and blogs. My main goal moving forward is to connect with my audience!
What are your favorite tools or resources that help you do business smarter, and how have they made a difference?
I can’t pick just one. I subscribe to a lot of different strategy platforms and advisors, pay attention to my web analytics, and I look at what other people are doing that makes ME respond and try to apply similar ideas in my outreach. I’m still a student!
What advice would you offer to businesses like yours just starting up?
Chip away a little bit at a time. Keep going! Keep building and keep learning.
