Tell us a bit about your business.
We specialize in lead generation. We developed a unique approach all on our own by working in a business development capacity in the tech startup industry for over a decade.
How has your business progressed recently and what do you attribute that to? Where do you see your business in one year?
We had more growth than expected. We attribute it to our work ethic. In our line of work, you cannot control the outcome. But, you can control your own business behaviors and routines. As long as we stick to the plan it really does seem to work. With the addition of Katherine as CEO, we’ve also been able to service our clients extremely well. That is where her expertise came into play. Service and work ethic.
What are your favorite tools or resources that help you do business smarter, and how have they made a difference?
We stick to LinkedIn, Craigslist, Indeed and Angelist.co for prospecting leads. Internally, we use HubSpot—an all-in-one customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing platform. Email marketing is handled with MailChimp. With more streamlined and simple processes, much better results are achieved. Keep it simple.
What advice would you offer to businesses like yours just starting up?
Be prepared to put in a lot of hours grinding out your first set of business. Don’t be afraid to take a haircut on your rate (initially) to prove your concept and get some references out of the deal. Be flexible but offer value. Make sure you figure out your niche specialty and go with that.
