Tell us a bit about your business.
Bare Bones Marketing LLC was founded in 2010 by Katharina Gruber, a 20-plus-year marketing veteran. During most of her career, Katharina worked for smaller, family-owned companies that had limited marketing budgets and resources. This challenged her to look for creative and affordable solutions that were still very effective. She now applies her experience and knowledge to help her clients with their marketing needs.
Bare Bones Marketing is working with a network of strategic partners who are all experts in their fields. This allows for a lean organization that has all marketing resources available when needed. In addition, Bare Bones Marketing is constantly researching the ever-changing marketing world for new trends that can be used for their clients’ marketing. We do the research and education so you don’t have to!
In what ways has your business progressed recently, and what do you attribute that to? Where do you see your business one year from now?
Since we started Bare Bones Marketing in 2010, the marketing world in general has changed considerably. In 2011, you had to convince business owners to consider Facebook as a marketing platform; now, it is a given. That is just one example of how things change. For us, it means that we cannot and don’t want to stand still. We always have to know what is going on in the world of marketing—the next trends, what is viable and what is just a fad. This way, we can provide ongoing, top-notch service. In a year from now, we hope to provide excellent service to our existing and new clients and maintain the high-level standards we are known for.
What are your favorite tools or resources that help you do business smarter, and how have they made a difference?
Our favorite tool/resource is our team—our people who work for and with us. There are great apps and online tools that make our work more efficient, but at the end of the day it is really our team that makes our business unique!
What advice would you offer to businesses like yours just starting up?
Don’t believe everything every “expert” tells you. Follow your gut feeling and heart. And, even though owning and running a business is a roller coaster, enjoy it.
